Journey of Healing from Type 1 Diabetes and Trauma: Transforming Life with the Spinal Flow Technique

When Jodie Impey first met Regina, a 51-year-old woman living with Type 1 Diabetes, her life was drastically limited by physical and emotional struggles. Regina’s health challenges were severe—she had tumors in her spine and meninges, peripheral neuropathy, and had endured the amputation of half of her foot. In addition to the complications of Type 1 Diabetes, she suffered from depression, and anxiety, and relied on multiple medications, including heavy opioid pain patches. For much of the day, she would sleep, only waking for brief moments.

But after working with Jodie Impey, a certified Spinal Flow practitioner and founder of Nativity, Regina’s story took an extraordinary turn.

The Impact of Trauma on Health: Type 1 Diabetes and Beyond

Regina’s health issues began at a young age. At seven, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes shortly after experiencing a major trauma—the sudden loss of a loved one. This life-altering event seemed to trigger a series of health problems, including the development of peripheral neuropathy, which left her largely immobile. “It’s really interesting how a traumatic experience can impact the body,” Jodie noted.

Before working with Jodie, Regina had been on numerous medications, slept up to 16 hours a day, and struggled to walk even short distances without assistance. She needed a wheelchair for outings and used a walker at home.

A Breakthrough with the Spinal Flow Technique

Jodie’s first session with Regina marked the beginning of a profound transformation. Although Regina slept through the entire session, something remarkable happened. “She woke up and said, ‘I don’t even know who I am. Something has changed,’” Jodie shared. “And I told her, ‘I worked on you all day while you were asleep.’”

Through the Spinal Flow Technique, Jodie was able to help Regina release major blockages in her spine and access the innate wisdom of her body’s healing abilities. The results were nothing short of miraculous.

From Medications to Movement: Healing Type 1 Diabetes Symptoms

One of the most dramatic changes was the reduction of Regina’s medications. Before starting Spinal Flow, she was on a heavy opioid patch, nerve blockers like Lyrica, and multiple cardiac medications. Now, many of these medications have been eliminated. For example, her opioid dosage dropped from 40 milligrams to just 25 micrograms, and her nerve-blocking medication was stopped completely.

Jodie also shared an inspiring update about Regina’s Type 1 Diabetes. Her blood sugar levels, which had been dangerously high for years, showed significant improvement. “Her HB1AC, which gives an average of her blood sugars over three to four months, was always 9 and above. Now, it’s dropped to 7, which is almost considered normal,” Jodie explained. This improvement is particularly meaningful for anyone managing Type 1 Diabetes, as it signifies better overall health and blood sugar control.

Regaining Mobility and Strength

Beyond medication, Regina’s mobility has dramatically improved. Once reliant on a wheelchair and walker, she no longer needs them. In fact, she’s only had two falls in the last 14 months—down from 35 falls in just two weeks. “This is a woman who used to spend 16 hours a day in bed. Now she’s out boxing, rolling, and even training twice a week,” Jodie shared with pride.

The physical transformation has been accompanied by emotional breakthroughs as well. “She told me, ‘It feels like someone has lifted the veil. Life is so much clearer now,’” Jodie said. Regina’s newfound vitality and clarity have been life-changing.

The Wisdom of the Body: A New Outlook on Life

Through her Spinal Flow sessions, Regina not only healed physically but also reconnected with her body’s innate wisdom. “We never know how innately wise the body is until we start doing this work,” Jodie reflected. Regina’s remarkable progress even extended to her hydration levels—she now drinks up to 1.5 liters of water a day, something she never did before. As Jodie explained, proper hydration is crucial for new cell growth and overall healing.

Regina’s next step is undergoing MRI scans to check the status of her tumors, but her progress so far offers hope that even more healing is possible. Her transformation from a life defined by Type 1 Diabetes and trauma to one filled with vitality is a powerful testament to the healing potential of the Spinal Flow Technique.

Unlock the Healing Power Within

Regina’s journey shows that healing is possible, even when facing decades of chronic illness and trauma. The Spinal Flow Technique has allowed her to reclaim her life, reduce her reliance on medications, and regain her strength and mobility.

If you or a loved one is managing Type 1 Diabetes or facing other health challenges, the Spinal Flow Technique may offer a path to healing.
